NOW can kiss my…..

So NOW wants to throw their support behind Obama to show what they believe is a champion for women.  Because of course, Palin does not.  Again, isn’t Obama running against McCain.  But what would you expect from an organization that is completely running their position based on abortion rights.  Abortion Rights DOES NOT EQUAL Women’s Rights.

Here is what I think is the real reason why NOW backed Obama. They felt they needed to show everyone that they truly were looking at the candidates and basing their decision on who best modeled their liberal platform. They obviously couldn’t pick a woman because that would just be stupid? Who else is for women other than ANOTHER WOMAN!  Take a look at this statement made by Kim Gandy on August 29, 2008:

Finally, as the chair of NOW’s Political Action Committee, I am frequently asked whether NOW supports women candidates just because they are women. This gives me an opportunity to once again answer that question with an emphatic ‘No.’ We recognize the importance of having women’s rights supporters at every level but, like Sarah Palin, not every woman supports women’s rights.

On September 16th, NOW announced their support of Obama.  Let’s take a look at the last sentence…Sarah Palin does not support women’s rights? Are you kidding me? I think Kim Gandy took Obama’s side to try to make a point – not to promote women’s rights. In effort to try to make her life easier and stop answering the question – she backed Obama.  Who else would know what women go through, dream of, want, and hope for?  Obviously not a man!

This is what Kim Gandy just told every woman in the world.

Please put the fate of your issues in a man – because a man is the most objective individual in this race and understands first hand the struggles a woman goes through. He understands the sacrifices women make to work, have families, and provide an education for their children. A man understands your needs and can see that when you are beat down to your bones, he knows what you need most.

Thanks Kim for believing in women…but no thanks. No way Obama! How about that NOW!….Now, here’s the real deal about Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin is the very heartbeat of what women can and will do in this country. With hard work and perseverance, Palin shows us that we can wear a skirt and still break through the barriers. I’m so tired of the women preaching that we have to wear the “man suit” and dress down our looks – our femininity – to be able to equal the playing field.  She resonates the very need of every woman to support her children and make a difference in the very society she lives in. She’s tough, even in a skirt, and I can’t wait till she “decimates” the opponents.

So now that we have established what Palin represents to me. Let’s take on the celebrities.  So far on my list of celebrities to create pin–the– tail-on-the-donkey games: Chase, Lohag, Andersuck, Streis-who, Gratefully dead, Spielmeagoodmovieforonce, Matt Demon and the list goes on…..

To bad they can’t stick to what they know. Acting in some cases and very bad acting in others.

Palin is a victim of girl on girl violence….

Remember those days when a pretty girl who had things going for her was bullied in the school yard by extremely jeolous girls.

…this is the exact thing happening to Palin.

It’s amazing that there is so much hate directed at Palin. There are lots of women out there who can’t help but be jeolous of a women who has it together…including looks. Many celebrities are leading the envy…

Instead of wasting your time on how you wish you could be her, be like her, or pretend to be her…grow some real confidence and do some research.

MCCAIN/PALIN 08!

Say what you mean - why does American have to decipher?

I feel bomarded by the media. I am learning to hate them. Some of them are good and talk about the issues intelligently.  Everyone else just sucks.

Right now, I can’t help but read comments about the parties. People comment about the person. They don’t comment about the issues. I see women criticizing Gov. Palin for the very things women have championed since we were allowed to vote.  DID YOU READ THAT! ALLOWED TO VOTE!  Men had to be convinced that women were capable of making intelligent decisions in selecting our countries leaders and allowed us to vote.  So now that I am exercising my right to vote - I have been following this nonsense.

First - What the hell was Obama thinking when using the lipstick comment? Idiot! He chose to use words in a speech that he WELL knew were no longer his to use. You cannot tell me that this man - who is claiming to be the change and champion for the people - did not understand that NOW that Sarah Palin had coined a phrase on National TV that the choice to use these words would NOT draw criticism. Please! He knew very well what he was doing and shame on his supporters for cheering him on.  Not only did he disrespect Gov Palin but his supporters showed American that they are not supporting him because of the issues at stake. They are still star strucked like deer caught in headlights…..btw do we have 57 states in the US? (As heard on the kid kraddick show in an interview with Obama - stating he had campaigned in all 57 states…I need to look that up….)

Second - Here is my pet peeve with the entire political process.  SAY what you MEAN?  If you want change, exactly - in plain English - what does that mean?  It’s amazing how in one article with thousands of comments, everyone is explaining what Obama really meant.  Is that what the Presidency would be like under him - (in journalists voice, let’s go over to Tim where he will tell us what the Obama administration meant about the comments he made today…..)

Third - We grow older and our lives change. I don’t know anyone who was born perfect. Do you?  Our responsibilities change, our goals, careers, priorities, etc…all change. We get wiser and our character changes with those experiences.  Why can’t I be for family? Why can’t I be for life? Why does that make me against choice?  The abortion issue to me is too controversial to touch.

Choice to me is about me having the ability to decide what happens to me. Now let’s put this into another perspective. I did a paper on the subject of female mutilation. Where female children have NO choice in the matter. They are held down against their will (by their mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, etc. ) and mutilated with a dirty razor. Based on their cultural beliefs - this is their rite of passage.  Women have fled these communities to escape this…..Your only choice in the matter is - willingly or unwillingly.

To provide a better choice for woman, there needs to be more education available to families about sex. Sex is a topic that should be taught by the family. Choice then becomes the decision to have sex - with or without protection. If you become pregnant - you have the choice to make any decision you want without being judged. Family support should be taught in schools.

While I have never had a position on abortion. I do believe that it should left up to the States and its residents. The people as a collective need to decide how to handle this. I am sure that there will be no state collective decision. McCain is for less beaucratic goverment - I highly believe in that.  People need to stand up and hold all of their leaders responsible for what they do. Americans, collectively, don’t understand the ramifications of the laws that they press for when the Federal goverment is involved….but that’s another story.

So this lipgloss wearing women is for the RIGHT change. I guess depending on what day it is depends if you can call me a pig….

Obama/Biden…hmmm still don’t like it.

Well, I peeked at the news this weekend. Obama picks Biden.  Who? It doesn’t excite me. I would be more excited if he would have chosen Tom Cruise…(It’s a joke for those who like to comment with bullshit.) Osame/Bin Laden campaign is not for me!

Anyways, I would like to see the Clinton delegates do something crazy! Shake this convention up and all vote for Clinton!  I cannot find any one person who has a decent sense of reality that is voting for Obama. He had a chance with Clinton, but now he threw that chance far into the gutter.

Here’s something else (yes, I do read). Obama has another thing coming. Just because Biden is Catholic doesn’t mean the Church supports his campaign. Biden cannot stand for one thing while Obama stands for another. Both candidates must stand on the values, morals, and beliefs of the Catholic Teaching.  You cannot be for the death penalty and against abortion at the same time. Either way it’s life- according to the Gospel of the Catholic Church. True Catholics will be independent (they cannot side with a belief of platform) and look at the issues and decide which candidate exemplifies the Catholic Teachings.  (For you naysayers, you may want to study the faithful citizen of the Catholic Church.) Don’t think I’m advocating either. I don’t necessarily agree with any Church brainwashing. God - who is the very being of my soul - guides my decisions.

Side note…delegate from Florida who confronted a Clinton supporter should be hung up by his toenails. He can definitely express his opinion, but you don’t tell someone how to vote or that they are stupid for not being democrat.  We all have an opinion and voice - errr isn’t that what Demo’s want. Idiot!

What to do?  How does the write-in candidate work? I guess I could look it up but I’m having to work overtime these days to make ends meet. Something I believe Demo’s want to tax more…the more I work..the more I pay taxes. Damm them!

Anyways - here’s something else that chaps my hide. I am the grand-daughter of a WW II veteran. Until the day he died, he never spoke of the war he was in. He never told us stories. His experience was kept to himself. While I may not agree with the reasons that put us in war situations, I have the obligation of keeping my grandfather’s memory of the war as he left it. Each person will experience it in their own way. Just because I MAY vote McCain doesn’t mean I am for war….however, war is the only way this country became free. Can other countries become free in the same manner? Possibly.

We AMERICANS forget how we got here. We have the power and military power to bring peace to other countries, even if it is forceful.  Why do we celebrate July 4th again? I don’t think it was the peyote we all passed around a campfire…give me a break!

Change of subject - today was my daughter’s first day of public school! Don’t you parents work! How the hell are there hundreds of parents picking up their kids after school…actually if you have time to pick up your kids in lounge wear, how do you afford the houses and taxes of the school district????? Another topic, another time.

Clinton to get roll call at convention…..My mood is uplifted.

I don’t pretend to know what’s going on with the election. I for one have never really looked at the issues. I have never really cared about the issues and when I did it was only about what was in my immediate environment. But can Clinton’s name at the Demo convention be a sign of fresh air?

You have to consider that there a many people like me out there. Never gave a rats ass about how the country was being ran, developing, or managed as long as it didn’t interfere with my life. Getting on with my life after college showed me the true status of women in this country. We have to work hard just to be a mom..just to work…just to be.  I have had to work to get where I am at and it has come with consequences along the way.  I am learning to stop waiting…for the wait.

I see Clinton out there trying her best to promote Obama. I don’t buy it like I have said before. Obama is not my choice and I cannot gravitate towards him to even begin to like him.  McCain, well his VP will be important, because how many years does he have left?

My feelings about Obama are like this: You are driving alone down a dark road. You are uncomfortable and something doesn’t feel right. After you try to talk yourself into continuing your journey, you decide it’s best to just go back home. So you turn around and drive back home. You are at ease and everything seems better. I keep coming back to Clinton as my choice and only choice.

OR

You work for a company where everyone who is NOT a manager actually knows what they are doing. You can find comfort and results in the people you work with. However, when you have a big problem, anyone with a title of Manager, Director, VP, President, etc can’t help you. They just don’t know. They feel overwhelmed when you bring problems to their table and expect you to deliver the solution. It makes you wonder how they got to the top - they were there when you were hired.  I feel that in a time of need - country despair - there will only be one hero who rises out the ashes to lead this country and that is Clinton.

So, as you can tell, I love Clinton. (No, not literally, but you get the picture.) There is something about her that puts me at ease; that makes it okay that I work; helps me know other moms can to; shows me how to be a committed and dedicated wife and gives me the slight curiosity to care.

Maybe her name will go into the convention nomination, maybe she will nominated, maybe she will get the VP slot, maybe………

Presidential Election is Lame….

Of lately, I have been doing what I do: reading, spending time with my family, watching Charmed, eating, drinking, working, etc. I realized – just realized – that the presidential election is lame. I am no longer interested. They day that Hillary got out of the race my hope for a new world vanished. With her, I read the new reports, kept up with the trash talkin’, read the online blogs, defended her, and prayed that she would be our next President. I have no idea what I will do in November. I can’t choose now, because I don’t trust McCain and I don’t trust Obama. Are the independent choices out yet? I don’t even know. Why is the campaign so lame now? Hillary provided the energy and heart to make me care about this world. She got me to my feet and made me wait in anticipation for casting my vote.

I feel like I am riding that calm before the storm wave. Something is coming – I don’t know what – but it’s going to be big.

I guess now that this has popped back into my head, I may research to see who are the candidates, but even with Hillary pulling behind Obama – I don’t feel it’s genuine.  November’s results will be a true representation of what the US wants – when all votes are counted. But if it’s not Hillary, I still won’t care. The presidential election is lame this year and it will be lame for the next 4 years. Not to mention the I told you so, more recession, higher gas prices, and more dead bodies in war…….God help us see you from the inside of our core.

Open Letter to Superdelegates - We NEED Clinton

The voter’s voice is the most important reason you are in office. While I understand that the money you fundraise during your terms takes a majority of your time - I can’t imagine that you can sit back and hand over your votes to a candidate that cannot win in November.  You handed the voters of West Virginia an insult when you added your votes to Obama’s campaign.

This delegate process must change!  It’s stupid. I can’t offer more intelligent terms when the terms of defining our Democratic nominee is plain stupid.  Senator Clinton has won the votes needed in the states that swing the elections. Do you see the patterns or do you have too many happy-hooked-on-hope interns doing the work for you?  Review your facts and don’t buy into the hope agenda. The more I learn about Senator Obama and the influences that have shaped his life - I can’t trust him. My heart tells me not to put my trust in him. Faith alone tells me he is the wrong candidate - at this time. He has some hard work ahead of him and maybe those years of experience will make him a better candidate - but not this time around.

Hope - this world is built on hope. Where has hope put us? I can answer that - high gas prices, school tax, PACS, war, food prices, more taxes, and an uneven playing field for women.

I cannot live on hope. I need change and Mrs. Clinton can make that change for me. She has the experience we need to run this country. She has the fierceness to take this country by storm and has the heart to help the working class succeed in life. She has results. She has experience - first hand experience at best.

As a woman, we need the world to stand up today and say it’s our time! We have been second fiddle and sometimes third, fourth and dead last in this world due to our gender. We make less, we get looked over for promotions, and get dealt less rights while trying to keep our homes safe for our children. We cannot be equal to men unless we become men.  Why can’t I be a beautiful, feminine, loving woman who can be an equal to a man? Why can’t I be a beautiful, feminine, loving professional sports player?  Stand up women of this world and make your claim! If we are not united, we are divided and will forever play the catch-up game of life….

Senator Clinton has my vote! Without her, we are doomed…..
